Victoria Beckham: It was ‘a huge honor’ to dress Meghan Markle

When Meghan Markle wears your clothes, it’s a big deal.

Just ask Victoria Beckham. On Christmas Day, the pregnant Duchess of Sussex, 37, stepped out wearing a calf-length navy dress ($1,695) from the 44-year-old British designer and former Spice Girl while heading to the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.

Markle paired the piece with a matching jacket ($3,085), leather boots ($1,600) and a chic handbag, all also made by Beckham — who had no idea the duchess would be wearing her designs.

“I mean she looked so beautiful, it was such a lovely surprise to wake up to on Christmas morning,” Beckham said on a recent appearance on “Live! With Kelly and Ryan.”

“You know, I think she’s such a beautiful, strong and wonderful woman — so it was a huge honor!”

It seems pregnancy has changed Markle’s style: Previously, she had stated that she wouldn’t wear Beckham’s designs because she didn’t feel they flattered her figure. “What I’m starting to learn is, even though things look amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me,” she said in 2017.

“For example,” she continued, “I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette.”

Perhaps Beckham should go into maternity wear.
