Who is Cooke Maroney? Meet Jennifer Lawrence’s art dealer husband

Jennifer Lawrence has been linked to some of the most famous men in Hollywood — including Coldplay’s Chris Martin, actor Nicholas Hoult, filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and her “Hunger Games” co-star Liam Hemsworth — but only Cooke Maroney was able to get the Oscar winner to walk down the aisle.

The private art gallerist and Hollywood starlet tied the knot in October 2019 and are now expecting their first child.

Here’s everything you need to know about the man who stole Lawrence’s heart.

When Maroney was a bachelor, he resided in a small rental building in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, with units ranging from $4,000 per month for a studio up to $11,000 for a two-bedroom duplex, per online real estate listings.

However, he and Lawrence snagged a $21.9 million townhouse on Jane Street in the West Village when they decided to move in together.

What does Maroney do for a living?

Maroney works as director of the high-end Gladstone Gallery, which specializes in modern and contemporary art and reps artists including Lena Dunham’s dad, Carroll Dunham, as well as Richard Prince, Anish Kapoor, Ugo Rondinone and Bjork’s ex Matthew Barney. Maroney began working there in 2015 after spending eight years at the famed Gagosian Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in New York owned and directed by Larry Gagosian.

What did Maroney study in school?

Maroney graduated from New York University with a degree in art history in 2007, according to his Facebook page. While there, he also studied economics. Prior to moving to New York for college, Maroney attended Middlebury Union High School in Middlebury, Vermont.

Page Six exclusively revealed in June 2018 that Lawrence and Maroney were dating after being introduced by her best friend, Laura Simpson. At the time, a source told us, “They have been very private and careful not to be seen together.”

Do they share similar political views?

Maroney registered as a Democrat in New York for the 2008 election. In November 2017, Lawrence made her first political donation to Democratic congressional candidate Amy McGrath from her home state of Kentucky, according to The Daily Beast.

In February 2018, Lawrence told “Entertainment Tonight” she was taking a year off from acting to work with a nonprofit organization called Represent.Us to help “get young people engaged politically on a local level.”

“It doesn’t have anything to do with partisan [politics],” she added. “It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy.”

What kind of ring did Maroney propose with?

As Page Six exclusively revealed in February 2019, Maroney proposed to Lawrence with a ring a source described as “massive.” While no exact price tag was revealed, a source who saw the jewelry said, “It was a giant rock. … The ring was very noticeable.”

Not many details are known about the actual proposal, but the “Hunger Games” star has said that accepting it was “a very easy, easy decision.”

What was their wedding like?

Lawrence and Maroney married in a lavish, star-studded wedding at the swanky and historic Belcourt of Newport mansion in Newport, RI, in October 2019. The 150-person guest list included Adele, Kris Jenner, Amy Schumer, Emma Stone and Ashley Olsen.
