Jennifer Lawrence’s engagement ring could be worth six figures
When Cooke Maroney picked out an engagement ring for Jennifer Lawrence, he didn’t skimp on style — or size.
The Oscar winner, 28, had been avoiding the spotlight in the weeks since accepting the 33-year-old art gallerist’s proposal at the beginning of February. But she finally gave photographers and fans a clear look at her “massive ring” at Dior’s fall 2019 fashion show in Paris on Tuesday, her first public appearance since getting engaged.
“Jennifer’s engagement ring appears to feature a 4- to 5-carat elongated cushion or emerald-cut diamond in a white gold or platinum solitaire setting,” Kathryn Money, Brilliant Earth‘s vice president of strategy and merchandising, told Page Six Style. (Money did not work on Lawrence’s ring.)
And the “Joy” star’s new bauble could be worth six figures. “Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center diamond, we estimate the cost of the ring at approximately $60,000 to $100,000,” Money added.
If Lawrence’s classic design feels familiar, there’s a good reason why. “Fancy cut (non-round) gemstones, particularly emerald cuts, are becoming increasingly popular, and many celebrities including Katherine Schwarzenegger, Karlie Kloss and Lea Michele have opted for this particular trend,” the gem expert explained.
The actress, who’s been a Dior ambassador since 2012, paired her dazzling rock with a gray tweed collared dress for the French fashion house’s show, and sat next to supermodel Cara Delevingne in the front row as she took in the collection.
Gathering inspiration for her wedding dress, perhaps?
