Kylie Jenner finally realizes she isn’t entirely ‘self-made’
Kylie Jenner might be the last person to realize she’s not entirely “self-made.”
In March 2019, the 21-year-old reality star and makeup mogul became the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire, according to Forbes. Her Kylie Cosmetics company was valued at at least $900 million, and the magazine also took into account her other revenue streams, including sponsorships.
People balked at the title, given her famous family and a massive amount of exposure thanks to E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Jenner defended the honor numerous times, including recently to Interview magazine, saying, “There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth. That is the category that I fall under.”
In a new interview with the New York Times, however, Jenner seemed to change her tune a bit.
“I can’t say I’ve done it by myself,” Jenner told the newspaper. “If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
Upon receiving the title, Jenner attributed a lot of her success to her social media profiles.
“It’s the power of social media,” she told Forbes. “I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.”
