Rihanna gearing up to launch Fenty skincare
Fenty Beauty already dominates most women’s makeup bags; now, it’s coming for their medicine cabinets as well.
According to a trademark listed under “Fenty Skin” on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s website and filed on March 25, 2019, Rihanna, 31, is working on a new suite of skincare products to add to her cosmetics empire.
While news of a forthcoming skincare launch was first sparked in September 2017 after a fan tweeted about finding a trademark registered under “House of Fenty” for “cosmetics … namely, creams, lotions, gels, toners and cleansers,” that was most likely filed in preparation for the pop star’s Body Lava launch.
This latest trademark registration, on the other hand, is filed specifically under a new “Fenty Skin” label, and is targeted specifically for “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators.”
It seems that the official launch of the product is still quite a ways off, however, as the trademark application has only just been approved and now still has to be assigned to an examining attorney, a process which can take up to three months — just enough time to get your finances in order.
A request for comment from Fenty Beauty was not immediately returned.
