Britney Spears is “home and happy” now that she’s checked out of the wellness center where she was being treated for her mental health, a source told Page Six.

The source also said the pop star is “looking forward to keeping her stress level as low as possible and to just relax,” which means she won’t be returning to her music career anytime soon.

Spears announced in January that she was taking a brief hiatus to deal with her father’s life-threatening colon condition. As a result, her “Britney: Domination” launch in Las Vegas was indefinitely postponed, and her new album was delayed.

At the time, Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph told Variety, “Everything is on hold right now until Jamie is better. But once he is, she will resume working on the album. Right now, she’s taking some time off to deal with these family issues.”

Three months later, sources confirmed that Spears was admitted into a mental health facility because she was “having a hard time dealing with her dad’s health issues.”

Now that Spears has been released, she is settling back into her old routine, but is taking “small steps” to recover, and “there’s a way to [go]” before she is ready to return to the stage, our source added.

The “Toxic” singer was spotted Friday in Thousand Oaks, California, making a trip to a tanning salon. According to TMZ, she also reunited with her two kids with Kevin Federline, sons Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12, resuming their 50-50 custody agreement.

Earlier this week, Spears reassured her fans that she is doing fine in a selfie video on Instagram, saying, “Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way.”
