Meghan Markle goes into labor, Buckingham Palace confirms
Meghan Markle went into labor in the early hours of Monday morning, Buckingham Palace confirmed Monday afternoon London time, noting Prince Harry was by her side.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously announced that they would be keeping details of their baby’s birth under wraps. This is their first child.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the palace previously said in a statement. “The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, have been preparing for their child’s arrival, recently moving from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage, which is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Meghan has reportedly considered having a home birth.
The couple, who wed last May, also requested fans to make donations in lieu of baby gifts.
