Prince Harry and Meghan ‘absolutely thrilled’ about baby boy

A “very excited” Prince Harry gushed about his newborn son Monday to the press, hours after wife Meghan Markle had delivered their first child.

“Mother and baby are doing incredibly well,” the new dad said Monday. “It’s been the most amazing experience I could have ever possibly imagined.”

Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, announced the arrival of their first child Monday on their official Instagram account. The baby was born in the early hours of Monday, May 6, weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces.

“We’re both absolutely thrilled, we’re so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing so we just wanted to share this with everybody,” Harry said.

After praising wife Meghan, Harry revealed the new family of three will make their debut in two days, and that they’re still mulling baby names.

“Still thinking about names,” he said. “Baby’s a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed Monday afternoon London time that Meghan had gone into labor with Harry at her side. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is currently with the couple at their Frogmore Cottage home, the Palace also revealed.

“I’m so incredibly proud of my wife,” Harry said of Meghan. “And as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, and I’m just over the moon.”

Baby Sussex is seventh in line to the throne, behind Harry, who is sixth. After Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles is first, followed by Prince William and his three children with wife Kate Middleton: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
