Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles ‘looking forward’ to meeting Baby Sussex
Prince Charles is very eager to meet his new grandson, Baby Sussex.
“We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return,” Charles, 70, said Tuesday while visiting Berlin, Germany, with wife Camilla Parker Bowles, 71, the Duchess of Cornwall.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child in the early hours of Monday morning. Two days later, the proud new parents introduced their newborn son to the world.
“It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing, I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy,” the Duchess of Sussex, 37, told the press Wednesday at Windsor Castle, adding her son has “the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm. It’s been a special couple of days.”
Proud dad Harry, 34, also called parenthood “amazing.”
“We’re just so thrilled to have our own bundle of joy and to spend precious time with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up,” he said.
Baby Sussex will get to meet his great-grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, on Wednesday. The young royal’s name is also expected to be announced soon.
The newest member of Britain’s royal family is seventh in line to the throne, behind Harry. After Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles is first, followed by his older son, Prince William, and William’s three children with wife Kate Middleton: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
