Britney Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph clarifies whether she’ll work again

Britney Spears‘ longtime manager Larry Rudolph is setting the record straight.

After Rudolph, 55, seemed to imply that the pop star may never perform again, the talent manager spoke with Billboard about what his comments really meant.

He said, “Other media sources seem to be picking up my quotes to TMZ as implying that Britney will never work again. That’s not what I said. I simply said that the Vegas residency is now officially off and that she hasn’t called me in months to talk about doing anything so I’m not sure if or when she will ever want to work again. It’s that simple.”

Rudolph continued, “I have one role in Britney‘s life. I’m her manager. She calls me if and when she wants to work. Other than that I’m not involved in anything else. Not the conservatorship, not her medical treatment, not her kids. Nothing else.”

In an interview with TMZ, Rudolph said Spears had not contacted him since she checked into a mental health facility, and added, “I have no desire or ability to make her work again. I am only here for her when she wants to work. And, if she ever does want to work again, I’m here to tell her if it’s a good idea or a bad idea.”

Spears is currently involved in a legal battle over her conservatorship. In January, she announced her “Britney: Domination” residency in Las Vegas was going on hiatus so that she could focus on her family as they deal with her father’s illness.

Rudolph shared that the singer’s album would also be delayed, saying, “Everything is on hold right now until Jamie is better. But once he is, she will resume working on the album with Justin [Tranter]. Right now, she’s taking some time off to deal with these family issues.”
