Meghan Markle’s engagement ring gets a sparkly upgrade
Meghan Markle‘s rocking some brand new sparkle.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, has upgraded her classic three-stone engagement ring from Prince Harry, swapping the sparkler’s original yellow gold band with a thinner pavé setting.
Eagled-eyed royal fans first spotted Markle’s modified ring during her appearance at last weekend’s Trooping the Colour celebrations, where she also debuted a new diamond eternity band assumed to be either a “push present” or anniversary gift from Harry.
The duchess also wore the reworked rock while posing for photos with newborn son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in early May.
It appears the new pavé band, like the duchess’ original ring, also incorporates yellow gold — a precious metal Prince Harry has said Markle loves.
“The ring is yellow gold, because that’s [her] favorite, and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this — on this crazy journey together,” he told the BBC during a post-engagement interview.
