Kim Kardashian launches Kimono shapewear line
Kim Kardashian famously loves her Spanx, and now she’s finally launching her own shapewear line.
The reality star and makeup mogul, who has a penchant for skintight clothing, announced the launch of the brand, called Kimono, on Tuesday, saying it’s been in development for the past year.
According to a news release from the company, the line of “shape-enhancing underwear” will officially be made available next month in sizes ranging from XXS to 4XL and in nine shades. There is currently no information about pricing.
“I’ve been passionate about this for 15 years,” she captioned images of the bras, singlets, shorts and briefs on Twitter. “Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work.”
News first broke that Kim was branching into undergarments in April 2018, working with the team behind sister Khloé Kardashian’s Good American line, as well as denim label Frame.
“I would always cut up my shapeware to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn’t find a shapeware color that blended with my skin tone so we needed a solution for all of this,” Kim said in the news release, misspelling shapewear.
Kim also revealed on Twitter that husband Kanye drew the logo for the brand.
One of the offerings — bottoms with one side cut into a brief and the other extending to fingertip length — may seem like an odd invention, but it’s actually practical for women partial to showing off their legs. “I developed this style for all of those times I wanted to wear a dress or skirt with a slit and still needed the support,” she said.
Chrissy Teigen is already an early supporter of the Solution Short: “Oh my god I don’t have to cut one side of my spanx anymore!!!!!,” she said.
