Meghan Markle, Prince Harry holding private christening for Archie this weekend
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly hosting baby Archie’s baptism this weekend, and — in what has become a trend for the couple — plan to keep things very private.
According to the UK’s Sunday Times, the christening is set to place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, where Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, wed last spring. New dad Harry was also baptized there in 1984.
The intimate affair will be attended by 25 of Meghan and Harry’s closest family and friends, per People, with images from the event likely to be released the following day.
“This is a beautiful milestone and they are excited to share it as a family first and then with the world,” a source told the outlet.
Meghan and Harry appear to be paving their own paths as royals once again. Archie, who was born in early May, has only been seen in person once and on social media only a handful of times, including in the Sussex’s Father’s Day post on June 16.
Meghan and Harry, however, been keeping up royal appearances. On Saturday, the couple stepped out for the first night of the MLB’s London Series two-game event between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Both teams gifted the 1-month-old onesies before the Yankees went on to defeat the Red Sox, 17-13.
Meanwhile, Prince William and wife Kate Middleton allowed the press photographers to capture family shots from the christenings of their three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and most recently, Prince Louis, 1, who was baptized last summer.
