Taylor Swift reportedly ghosted Scooter Braun when he called about deal

Scooter Braun has reportedly tried to make contact with Taylor Swift over his acquisition of Big Machine Records — including the rights to her old music — but she’s being accused of ignoring his calls.

Sources close to the deal told The Blast that Braun, who manages pop stars such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, attempted to connect with Swift via mutual friends to have a “mature and private” chat but was unable to do so. Braun reportedly wanted to talk about his position and the “shock” he felt when she publicly blasted him.

He’s said to be “very hurt” by Swift’s actions and purchased the label and her masters because he believes in her future. She, meanwhile, claims Braun bullied her in the past and said, “my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.”

Reps for Braun and Swift didn’t immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.

As Page Six previously reported, Big Machine founder Scott Borchetta penned an open letter in response to Swift that claimed she had been lying about being in the dark about the deal and having the opportunity to purchase her masters.

While many celebrities and executives have come to Braun’s defense, including Demi Lovato and Sia, Swift’s “ME!” collaborator Brendon Urie came forward to slam the manager to the stars.

“What a piece of s–t,” the Panic! at the Disco frontman said. “It broke my heart. I read Taylor’s statement and I was like, ‘This sounds about right,’ you know? Toxic dudes doing toxic (s–t) in this toxic industry … It’s disgusting, right?”

Braun continues to share messages of support from colleagues on his Instagram stories in response to the critics.
