Meghan Markle, Prince Harry share photos from Archie’s christening
Proud parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took to Instagram after their royal baby, Archie, was baptized Saturday.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son,” read the caption of a photo posted to their official Instagram account. “They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment.”
The family photo included grandparents Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles along with Markle’s mother Doria Ragland. Aunt and Uncle Prince William and Kate Middleton also joined in the professional portrait.
It was reported earlier in the day that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip would not attend the ceremony, which was held in the private chapel at Windsor Castle.
Although the Sussexes have kept the godparents of their first child a secret, the Instagram caption mentioned that they were present.
“Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie,” the caption read.
Sisters of the late Princess Diana, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, also joined in the photo.
In a second image, the couple shared a sweet black and white photo of them holding the baby.
Archie, who was being held by Markle for the photo, donned a traditional “Royal Christening Robe” that was also worn by his cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The baby was born in May.
