Judge releases A$AP Rocky from custody until assault trial verdict
A Swedish judge on Friday ordered A$AP Rocky and two members of his entourage to be released from custody until the judge announces the verdicts in his assault case.
Senior District Court Judge Per Lennerbrant told the court at the end of the three-day trial that he would hand down the verdicts on Aug. 14.
President Trump, who has expressed his support for the Grammy-nominated artist, cheered the announcement of Rocky’s release.
“A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden. It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!” the president said in a tweet.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, and the two others were detained on July 3 in connection with a street brawl on June 30 and charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
