Whitney Cummings takes on extortionists by posting her own nipple pic
Whitney Cummings is standing up to trolls who tried to extort her over an accidental nip-slip by fearlessly posting a screenshot of the topless photo herself.
“In April I accidentally posted an insta story that showed nipple,” she tweeted on Monday, along with the image. “Once I realized, I deleted. The people who took screen grabs are trying to get money from me, some said they have offers to sell them, some are asking for money to not post the photo.”
The screenshot revealed Cummings’ breast as she filmed herself taking a shower.
“They all must think I’m way more famous than I am, but they also must think I’m way more easily intimidated than I am,” she captioned the nude images. “If anyone is gonna make money or likes off my nipple, it’s gonna be me. So here it all is, you foolish dorks.”
The 36-year-old comedian said that she would rather have her topless pic out in the open than have to devote herself to dealing with these kinds of threats.
“When a woman in the public eye is extorted, we have to spend time, money and energy dealing with it, hiring lawyers and security experts, and living with a pit in our stomach about when and how we will be humiliated,” she wrote. “Y’all can have my nipple, but not my time or money anymore.”
She added that she would not be publicizing the names of those who tried to blackmail her as they “might be dumb kids” and she wouldn’t want to ruin their lives over a mistake they made when they were young.
Shortly after sharing her story, Twitter users showed their support by posting their own embarrassing photos with the hashtag #istandwithwhitney.
“Thank you everyone who sent me embarrassing pictures of yourselves to make me feel better about my embarrassing photo,” she said. “It means the world to me, but I wouldn’t freak out if you stopped sending me photos of your hairy balls.”
