Artie Lange’s first post-rehab gig: ‘Thanks for not forgetting me’

Artie Lange’s first post-rehab gig: ‘Thanks for not forgetting me’

Artie Lange is glad you didn’t give up on him.

Fresh out of rehab and seven months sober, the comedian returned to the standup stage Saturday night at Bally’s Atlantic City to a sold-out crowd at the AC Jokes Comedy Club.

The 51-year-old made light of his stints in and out of jail — but was visibly moved that people showed up, a source tells Page Six.

“He genuinely thanked his fans for not forgetting him,” says the source. “It was a really heartfelt moment during what was a hysterical comedy set, where he also didn’t hold anything back.”

The packed crowd was reportedly thrilled to see him, including a frenzied female who yelled, “We love you” much to Lange’s amusement.

“Wow. This is the first time a woman ever yelled that. It’s usually guys,” he quipped. “My life would be a lot better if I preferred plumbers from Jersey over girls.”

Lange’s reps could not immediately be reached for comment.

The long-troubled funny guy tweeted a photo on Sept. 10, announcing he was fighting to stay clean after receiving treatment in rehab.

The former “MadTV” actor checked in to rehab this year after testing positive for cocaine twice. He was arrested in January for drug possession and again in May for violating his drug court program.

Last year, Lange shocked fans on Twitter when he shared a photo of his “hideously deformed” nose thanks “to over 3 decades of drug abuse.”

The comedian is set to perform at the Hoboken Comedy Festival in October, he announced on Twitter.
