‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kandi Burruss expecting baby via surrogate
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, are reportedly expecting a baby via surrogate, following months of public conversations about their decision to have another child.
According to People, the couple’s surrogacy process will be chronicled on the upcoming 12th season of the Bravo series, after Season 11 focused on their baby-making plans.
Burruss, 43, and Tucker — who wed in 2014 — are parents to 3-year-old son Ace Wells. The reality star also has a teenage daughter named Riley from a previous relationship with Russell Spencer, and Tucker is the father of a daughter named Kaela, who is in her early twenties.
Late last year, Burruss said the couple was in the early stages of finding a surrogate after she “had been having some issues” getting pregnant herself through IVF.
In February, Burruss received some advice from Bravo honcho Andy Cohen — who welcomed his son, Benjamin Allen, via surrogate — which she emotionally recounted on the now-defunct late-night show “Busy Tonight.”
“I said something about, ‘Well I guess I’m going to have a baby mama,’” Burruss said through tears about deciding to use a surrogate. “And [Cohen] said to me, ‘Don’t you ever say that, because you are a mother, and to say she’s your baby mama is taking it away from you.’”
Burruss and Tucker are thought to have a girl on the way because Burruss previously revealed the couple had two female embryos.
A rep for Bravo didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
