Meghan Markle, Prince Harry to spend Archie’s first Thanksgiving in LA
Even the royals will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast this year.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry plan to travel to Los Angeles with baby Archie to partake in the American tradition with her mother Doria Ragland, the Sunday Times reported.
The couple will take a six-week hiatus from their royal duties, which will allow them to enjoy Thanksgiving for the first time as a family of three, according to the report.
“The Duke and Duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time,” a source told the outlet.
The California-born duchess wants her 5-month-old son — who is seventh in line to the throne — to grow up aware of his American heritage, the outlet reported.
But the couple will return across the pond by December for Archie’s first Christmas.
Per royal tradition, they will spend with the Queen and the rest of the family in Norfolk at Sandringham, according to the report.
The report comes after the former actress became emotional in an ITV interview about the struggles of motherhood while in the spotlight.
“I would say, look, any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging,” Markle said in an interview set to air Sunday. “And then when you have a newborn, you know? And especially as a woman, it’s really, it’s a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed, it’s um … yeah.”
