Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spending the holidays in Canada
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are spending the holidays ‘oot and aboot’ with baby son Archie in Canada, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken six weeks off after a difficult year and are skipping Christmas with the Queen and the rest of the Royal family, including Harry’s big brother Prince William, wife Kate and their three kids.
The couple shared secret dates in Toronto when first dating, while Markle filmed her TV drama “Suits,” and her best friend, stylist Jessica Mulroney, lives there with her TV presenter husband Ben and their three children, who all had roles at the royal wedding.
A friend told the Daily Mail: “They have barely set foot outside the door and have been enjoying some quality family time together.”
A palace spokeswoman confirmed: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending private family time in Canada. The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both.
“The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to the Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family. They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son.”
Markle’s mom Doria Ragland has reportedly also flown to Canada to be with the Sussexes. They’re keeping the exact locations of their holiday secret for security purposes.
The statement came as Harry’s grandfather Prince Phillip was admitted to a London hospital on Friday suffering from a “flu-like” illness.
