Meghan Markle will never return to Britain to live, friend claims

Meghan Markle has no intention of ever returning to Britain to live, a pal said in a report Monday.

“She doesn’t want to raise Archie there, and she doesn’t want to schlep back and forth. She’ll make extended visits, but that’s it,” the friend told the Daily Mail.

Archie is Meghan’s baby with Britain’s Prince Harry, and after his birth, she was “miserable” living in Britain, the pal said. The Duchess of Sussex “wasn’t sleeping well and started having anxiety attacks about her future.”

Harry and his American former-actress wife stunned the palace and world last week when they announced they planned to stop participating in their “senior royal duties,” substantially limiting their official capacities, and become more financially independent while continuing their philanthropy efforts. They said they planned to split their time between North America and the UK.

The friend said the renegade royal couple is now “looking for a permanent residence in Canada. [Meghan] said she wants a country house in Whistler outside of Vancouver and a home in Toronto.

“What Meghan wants, Meghan gets. This was her plan all along, to eventually leave the UK and build her own empire with Harry,” the pal said.

The royal couple’s sensational secession announcement led to an emergency “Megxit” summit Monday between Harry, his older brother Prince William, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and aides.

After the two-and-a-half-hour session, the queen issued a statement saying she was “entirely supportive” of the young couple’s desire for independence, even if she “would have preferred” they stayed fully in the fold.

The queen is said to be upset and bewildered by Harry’s apparent snub of the family, not to mention the very public way he blindsided her, while William is furious at Harry and Meghan’s antics and Charles is hurt.

But “Meghan says their announcement was not a surprise to the royal family — they knew all along,” the pal told the Mail.

“Meghan feels the good she and Harry can create with their own fortune far outweighs any hurt feelings.”
