Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler break up after nearly 9 years together

Actress Vanessa Hudgens has split from longtime boyfriend Austin Butler after almost nine years of dating.

A source confirmed the news to People on Tuesday.

Fans began to question the status of their relationship when neither the “Bad Boys for Life” actress, 31, nor the “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” actor, 28, posted any photos together during the holiday season.

Hudgens did recognize her ex’s birthday with an August Instagram post, writing, “Happy birthday to my love, my other half, my constant inspiration and supporter. My best friend. My everything. 28 is going to be 🔥🔥🔥.”

As recently as July 2019, fans thought the pair could be headed toward the altar, as Hudgens was seen rocking an “engagement style ring” from Norman Silverman Diamonds. A rep for the jewelry designer confirmed to Page Six Style that the massive rock wasn’t the result of a proposal.

Hudgens previously dated “High School Musical” co-star, Zac Efron.

Us Weekly was the first to report the split. Reps for the actors did not immediately return our requests for comment.
