‘Love Island’ host Caroline Flack’s boyfriend heartbroken over apparent suicide
Former “Love Island” host Caroline Flack’s boyfriend says his “heart is broken” after she was found dead in an apparent suicide.
Lewis Burton shared an emotional tribute Sunday on Instagram to the 40-year-old British star, saying they had “something special.”
“My heart is broken. We had something so special,” he wrote alongside a photo of them on the beach. “I am so lost for words. I am in so much pain.”
Flack — who was the host of the popular UK dating show — was found dead Saturday in her east London apartment, the Guardian reported. A lawyer for her family said she had died by suicide.
Her death comes just weeks before her trial for allegedly assaulting Burton in December. He accused her of hitting him with a lamp before later backtracking on the claims.
Burton, a tennis player, promised his late girlfriend Sunday that he’d be her “voice” in the wake of her death.
“I will be your voice, baby,” he wrote. “I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers. Nothing will bring you back, but I will try to make you proud every day. I love you with all my heart.”
