Kris and Kylie Jenner announce Kylie Skin will make hand sanitizer

Kylie Jenner is using her beauty empire to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The 22-year-old billionaire quietly donated $1 million last week to help supply protective gear to healthcare professionals fighting COVID-19 on the front lines.

And on Tuesday, she and momager Kris Jenner partnered with Coty, the beauty conglomerate and Kylie Skin investor, to manufacture hand sanitizer for hospitals in southern California.

“The custom hand sanitizer includes a special message for recipients: ‘Dedicated to first responders working to support our communities,'” according to a press release.

A rep for the brand confirmed that the hand sanitizer will be made by Coty’s factories and will not affect the production of Kylie Skin products.

However, fulfillment centers that work for both Kylie Cosmetics and sister Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty line have halted production under California’s statewide shelter-in-place order.

Fashion giant LVMH and beauty companies including L’Oréal and Estée Lauder have similarly pivoted to produce hand sanitizer, which has been in short supply since the coronavirus crisis began.

Kylie has been urging her millions of fans to stay home and practice social distancing, and was even called out by name by the Surgeon General to help California flatten the curve.
