Kanye West reveals first look at Yeezy Gap line
Onetime Gap employee Kanye West is now sharing a sneak peek at his own collaboration with the mega-retailer.
On Thursday, the head and heart behind Yeezy, 43, shared a short video — presumably from within his currently-under-construction Wyoming manufacturing plant — of an early fitting for his collection.
In the five-second clip, a mix of high-vis orange and pink tie-dye pieces can be spotted scattered across the floor, along with the grays, whites and tans for which West’s high-fashion Yeezy label is famous.
The “Stronger” rapper and presidential hopeful confirmed he’d signed a 10-year deal with the Gap in late June; his first line is set to hit stores and online in early 2021 and will include “modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at accessible price points,” according to a news release.
Aside from working at the Gap as a teenager, West has often name-dropped the brand in his music, including shout-outs on songs such as “Spaceship” and “Last Call” from his debut album “The College Dropout.”
What really got some fans talking, however, was the inclusion of a tank-like vehicle casually rolling by in the background of West’s fitting video.
“We all just gonna scroll past Kanye having a tank? Okay cool just making sure,” one person tweeted.
