Meghan Markle, Prince Harry sign multi-year deal with Netflix
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, sources confirmed Wednesday to Page Six, nearly nine months after stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have relocated to Montecito, Calif., with their 1-year-old son Archie, will develop “documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming,” according to the New York Times, with a production company they founded.
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” Meghan and Harry told the Times in a statement. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
Meghan, 39, who starred in the legal drama “Suits,” and Harry, 35, could also potentially appear on-screen with documentaries, the publication also reported. Meghan recently voiced Disneynature’s “Elephants” earlier this year.
The Netflix deal follows news of Meghan and Harry remaining “Sussex Royal” brand to the MWX Foundation, which is speculated to stand for the “Markle Windsor Foundation.”
Meghan and Harry completed their final round of royal engagements in March.
