Justin Bieber teases Crocs collaboration
Justin Bieber’s making the switch from hotel slippers to Crocs.
The “Holy” singer, 25, sent fans into a frenzy when he posted an Instagram photo of yellow Crocs floating in a pool last week, teasing an upcoming collaboration in his fashion brand Drew House’s signature color.
“Soon,” was all that Bieber captioned the pic. When reached for comment, a rep for the brand was similarly tight-lipped: “We told you this Croctober was going to be big. More details coming soon,” they said.
On Wednesday, the Biebs revealed that fans can get their hands on his bright yellow clogs on October 13 by eating a larger-than-life cake shaped like the forthcoming shoes. “I’ve been wearing Crocs since the beginning of time, and now I have my own design,” the singer said in a video on Twitter.
This limited-edition collaboration will be released globally on Tuesday, October 13th for $59.99 across select Crocs and partner e-commerce channels, according to a press release. The Crocs X Justin Bieber with drew Classic Clog will also be sold at select Crocs retail stores in China and South Korea, as well as on www.thehouseofdrew.com.
Clearly, fans are already dying for a piece of the collab: Crocs’ shares rose more than 11 percent following Bieber’s post, trading at a peak of $47.81 on Thursday afternoon, according to Business Insider. Shares dropped slightly to $45.19 before market close, but were still 5.8 percent ahead for the day.
And it’s not just the Biebs who loves Crocs; the company recently released wildly popular designs from Bad Bunny and Post Malone.
