Liam Payne knows what makes Harry Styles beautiful.

The 27-year-old singer defended his former One Direction bandmate’s iconic Vogue cover amid backlash from Candace Owens.

When asked about the controversial cover during an interview with Roman Kemp on “Capital Breakfast,” the 27-year-old singer responded, “Oh, I thought it was great.”

“I think he’s enjoying himself and he’s free to do as he wishes,” Payne continued, “And, you know, I just think that people don’t need to be so bothered about stuff.”

“There’s been a lot more stuff going on this year than whether or not he’s wearing the right clothes in someone else’s mind.”

Styles made history when he wore a Gucci ball gown on the cover of Vogue’s December 2020 issue, becoming the first-ever solo male to cover American Vogue.

While the magazine was so popular that Vogue reportedly had to order more editions, Styles’ attire sparked backlash from conservative author Candace Owens, who criticized the “feminization of our men” and called to “bring back manly men.”

Styles later addressed her comments in a subtle Instagram post, captioning a photo of himself eating a banana, “Bring back manly men.”

Payne joins public figures including Zach Braff, Olivia Wilde, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in sharing his support for the historic cover.
