Brittany Matthews gives birth, welcomes first child with Patrick Mahomes
The newest member of Chiefs Kingdom has arrived.
On Sunday, Brittany Matthews, the fiancée of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, announced the birth of the couple’s first child, a baby girl named Sterling.
“Sterling Skye Mahomes,” Brittany posted to Instagram, noting the couple’s bundle of joy was born Saturday and weighs 6 lbs., 11 oz.
In a photo shared on her page, Matthews is seen wearing a “Sterling” necklace while giving a glimpse of her newborn daughter’s hand. Mahomes, 25, also posted the same image.
Ahead of Sterling’s birth, Matthews shared photos from her maternity shoot with Mahomes.
“My King,” she gushed on Instagram at the time.
Matthews, a certified personal trainer, announced her pregnancy in September, the same month she and Mahomes got engaged.
“Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding,” Matthews posted to Instagram at the time.
Mahomes, the 2020 Super Bowl MVP, signed the richest contract in sports history over the summer, a 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth $503 million.
The Chiefs recently fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 2021 earlier this month.
