Prince Harry’s Oprah interview suit has special tie to son Archie
For his highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry reached for his old favorite suit.
The 36-year-old Duke of Sussex donned J.Crew’s “Ludlow” slim-fit suit jacket ($425) and “Ludlow” suit pant ($225), both in light gray Italian wool, for the CBS special, which is set to air on Sunday, March 7.
One of the brand’s bestsellers since its introduction in 2008, Harry’s suit should look familiar to royal fans; he’s worn it numerous times over the past several years, including to polo matches, the 2018 Invictus Games, a 2018 visit to Sussex and a 2019 trip to Morocco.
Sometimes, he chooses to break up the suit and only wear the blazer; it’s one of at least four different “Ludlow” jackets currently hanging in his closet.
The Duke also notably chose his light gray “Ludlow” for two momentous occasions involving the Sussexes’ son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, wearing it for their baby’s public debut in May 2019 as well as for his christening a couple months later.
Harry typically teams the look with a tie, but he opted to go without for his chat with Winfrey, 67 — a fitting move for the intimate sit-down, in which he and Markle, 39, will discuss their decision to resign from their royal duties and relocate to California amid tensions with the Firm.
And while the Duchess of Sussex debuted a new Armani dress for the occasion, she paired it with some tried-and-true jewels, including a diamond tennis bracelet from Princess Diana’s collection.
Markle similarly squeezed in her own sartorial nod to son Archie while announcing her second pregnancy in February, posing for a black-and-white photo in a Carolina Herrera dress that was custom-made for her back when she was expecting the couple’s first child.
