Cardi B shows off her massive Hermès Birkin bag collection
Cardi B’s got a Birkin for every outfit.
The 28-year-old “WAP” rapper gave fans another glimpse at her coveted purse collection on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a snap of her impressive array of Hermès bags.
It seems her lineup of the hard-to-come-by handbags has only grown since she first showed it off in 2020, with her latest post including versions in paisley, camo and a rainbow of solid shades.
While she displayed the massive collection inside her closet last year, this time she laid the pricey pieces out on the floor, seemingly taking inventory.
“Every other day new wig new hair, come take me out this Mugler ……a couple weeks ago,” the pregnant star captioned a series of photos, showing off her baby bump in a skintight Mugler dress and quoting her verse from Normani’s new song “Wild Side.”
With so many options, Cardi must have had a hard time deciding which purse to pair with her eye-catching outfit. She ended up selecting her Birkin Cargo bag, which she dropped up to $240,000 to acquire in February after “searching the world” for the rare multi-pocketed design.
Although the Grammy winner is known for her slew of Hermès handbags — and often coordinates them with her hair color — many followers were still stunned by the sheer multitude of purses, with one commenting, “- How many bags you need? – Yes.”
Others were taken aback by the collection’s collective price tag, with one writing, “A few homes in birkins!!,” and another quipping, “I can’t afford to look at this picture.”
Birkin may as well be Cardi B’s middle name: In addition to piling up her own pieces — many of which were gifts from husband Offset — she’s even gifted them to friends like “WAP” collaborator Megan Thee Stallion.
She’s also spoken up about racist reactions to her Birkin-filled closet, asking last year, “Why is it that y’all asking female rappers if they could get a bag from the Hermès store? Y’all don’t do this to these white celebrities. So why is it that y’all gotta be asking us?”
“Hip-hop, we start trends. When y’all say that we devalue s—t, no we actually add value,” Cardi added.
The “Money” rapper’s 3-year-old daughter Kulture may even be leading the next generation of Hermès collectors. She already has at least one Birkin to her name, which Offset controversially gifted her on her second birthday.
And with Cardi announcing her second pregnancy last month, perhaps there are even more mommy-and-me purse photoshoots to come.
