Fenty Beauty’s new perfume is ‘Rihanna in a bottle’
Starting next week, fans can smell as sexy as Rihanna.
The 33-year-old singer continues to add to her beauty empire, announcing on Monday that her first Fenty perfume will be available to shop on August 10 after teasing the scent on social media last week.
The spicy and sweet fragrance is inspired by places the bad gal has traveled throughout her life, from her hometown in Bridgetown, Barbados, to Paris and New York, and will be available for $120 exclusively at fentybeauty.com.
“That’s the thing I love the most,” she shared in a statement. “It’s an experience, it’s a memory, encapsulated into a fragrance. One smell, you’ll never forget it.”
Rihanna, who is known for wearing the pricey Love, Don’t Be Shy by Kilian ($240), created her very own scent with sensual notes of magnolia, musk, tangerine and blueberry and hints of Bulgarian rose absolute, geranium and patchouli.

As for the amber-hued bottle? “I wanted a rich color that really represented all genders from across all walks of life,” Rihanna said.
“Brown is my favorite color. Brown is who I am. Brown is what I come from. If I’m going to make a fragrance that represents me, even the body language of the bottle needs to marry that. So, I wanted something brown, but also transparent — so you could see the liquid and the fragrance you’re about to experience.”
She teamed up with LVMH’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud to create the fragrance in France; the scent whiz called Rihanna a “genius” and said that working alongside her was “the best adventure” of his career.
“I was expecting a star and I met a woman,” Belletrud said during a press conference.
“I put Rihanna in the bottle. And that was my goal … it became evident that the perfume had to be, for me, very sensual. When you see her, when you meet her, you are automatically impressed with her.”
With Fenty, Rihanna has made it her mission to create products that champion inclusivity. Her beauty brand offers a whopping 50 different foundation shades to suit a wide range of skin tones, while her billion-dollar Savage X Fenty lingerie line sells size-inclusive styles for both women and men.
It’s rumored that Fenty Hair will be the superstar’s next beauty endeavor.
