Kate Beckinsale’s skincare secret comes from scorpions

Kate Beckinsale’s skincare secret comes from scorpions

Kate Beckinsale is willing to go to strange places for her beauty routine.

The actress, 48, announced on Tuesday that she is the new spokesperson for MRVL Skin Solutions, a brand that uses blue scorpion venom in its anti-aging products.

MRVL’s CEO, Rick Langley, goes by @scorpion.rick on Instagram and is also the founder of the world’s largest blue scorpion farm.

Beckinsale will help launch MRVL’s six-product range this fall, which includes a recovery cream, hyaluronic cream, night cream, serum, eye cream and collagen mask — all featuring the company’s patent-pending Blue Scorpion Peptide.

“This peptide has been clinically proven to help stimulate natural collagen production, fight free radicals, help regenerate symptoms of damaged skin and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,” MRVL’s website claims.

Though the tiny yet deadly creature’s venom has not yet been used in skincare, it has been studied in the medical field.

With Marvl’s products ranging in price from $175 to $250, the scorpion juice is no small investment. However, Beckinsale has consistently denied accusations of Botox and plastic surgery, saying she gets “pissed off” when people assume she’s had work done.

The British star simply has genetics — and scorpions, apparently — to thank for her wrinkle-free complexion.
