Carrie Underwood gets matching tattoos with 74-year-old mom, sisters
Ink fit for the whole family.
Carrie Underwood got tattoos with her 74-year-old mom and her two sisters over the weekend — and as it turns out, it was the matriarch’s idea to get the matching designs.
“When your 74-year-old mother asks you and your sisters to get matching tattoos with her in Vegas, the only questions are, ‘what?’ and ‘where?’” the “Before He Cheats” hitmaker wrote on Instagram Sunday, sharing photos of the group showing off their tiny new heart tats.
“I never would’ve thought I’d see the day that Mama Carole would be gettin’ some ink! 😂❤️” Underwood added.
Proving what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there, the “American Idol” alum, 40, also shared snaps from the quartet’s trip to Darek Riley’s tattoo studio in Sin City.
“Experiences like this make Las Vegas one of the coolest places to live!” Riley wrote on his own Instagram, sharing the same pics.
“A huge thank you to the Underwood gals for coming by and spending the afternoon in my studio. I am so grateful.”

While Underwood got her heart tat on the top of her foot, sisters Shanna and Stephanie and mom Carole all opted to place theirs on their wrists.
The Grammy winner’s celebrity pals approved, with Jennifer Lopez (who has ink of her own) dropping a heart emoji in the comments and country singer Maddie Marlow exclaiming, “Girl you are in your tattoo era! You’re making me want another!”
However, not everyone showed love for the hearts.
“When your 74 year old mother asks you to get heart tattoos you should politely say no,” one follower joked.
In May, Underwood showed off a dainty and delicate new floral arm tattoo she got during a girls’ trip with her sisters-in-law.
“Sisters…not by blood…but sisters nonetheless,” she wrote in her caption showcasing the group’s likeminded designs.
“God truly showed us great favor by putting us all together. These ladies are strong, kind and faithful and I’m so happy I get to do life with them!!!” Underwood continued. “From the beach to the tattoo parlor, Destin didn’t know what hit it!”
Now, Vegas doesn’t know what hit it.
