The best beauty looks of the 2024 Met Gala — and how to shop them
The Met Gala 2024 red carpet was in full bloom, with stars pulling out all the stops to nail the “Garden of Time” dress code.
But while Vogue’s annual fête is known as fashion’s biggest night, stars’ beauty looks were just as show-stopping as their couture.
The best part? You won’t need industry connections or access to designers’ archives re-create some of the night’s best makeup and hair moments at home.
Below, explore (and shop) some of the buzziest beauty looks from Hollywood’s night at the museum.
Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney debuted a bold new ‘do on Met Monday, covering her signature blond waves with a jet-black wig styled using Kérastase products like the bestselling Elixir Ultime L’Huile Originale ($28).
The “Euphoria” actress and Laneige ambassador also reached for products from the famous K-beauty brand to get gala-ready — including its viral Lip Sleeping Mask, which has a long list of A-list (and editor) devotees.
“It strengthens the lips’ moisture barrier and provides [eight] hours of hydration, making it a crucial step ahead of important events like tonight,” Sweeney’s makeup artist Melissa Hernandez said in a press release.

Tyla
Tyla brought the beach to the big city with her “sands of time”-inspired Balmain gown, which was coated in three types of real sand.
And while her dress required five people to carry it up the steps (plus a last-minute tailoring session inside the Met), her makeup look from beauty icon Pat McGrath is far easier to re-create.

Cardi B
Forget red bottoms; Cardi B opted to go green at the 2024 Met Gala, matching her emerald-hued nails and eyeliner to show-stopping bling.
Her jewelry wasn’t the only thing shimmering, as makeup artist Erika La’ Pearl completed the star’s look with a swipe of Vaseline body oil for a glowing finish.

Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey returned to one of her longtime beauty go-tos for this year’s Met Gala: Charlotte Tilbury. Having previously worked with the brand to get glowing for February’s Grammys, the “Summertime Sadness” singer prepped for the museum benefit with products like Charlotte’s Magic Serum ($85), Pillow Talk Beauty Light Wand ($42) and Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara ($29).

Kendall Jenner
While Kendall Jenner’s 1999 Versace dress had never been worn by a person before (only a mannequin), her beauty standbys have appeared on a long list of fellow famous folks. The reality star and global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris added some shine with the brand’s True Match Lumi Glotion ($17 $14) — which Martha Stewart, Alix Earle and Kyle Richards similarly swear by.

Zendaya
For her first Met Gala appearance in five years, Zendaya made up for lost time with not one, but two red carpet looks, both designed by John Galliano. Hairstylist Ursula Stephens helped get her ready for the big night by applying Living Proof products like this leave-in hair mask, then blow-drying with the Dyson Supersonic ($429).

Naomi Campbell
Celebrity aesthetician Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine’s worked with some of the most famous faces in the biz, and Monday’s red carpet was no exception. He treated stars including Campbell to his signature “The Method” facial, which uses Augustinus Bader skincare like the luxe Rich Cream.

Ashley Graham
Ashley Graham prepped for her role as a Vogue livestream host with sunless tanner from St. Tropez, including this under-$50 buy she used in the days prior to the gala.

Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning’s Met Gala look went to the (crystal) birds. The actress looked like she stepped right out of a fairytale in a crystalline Balmain gown accented with rosy cheeks dusted in this blush you can pick up from your local drugstore.

Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter wore her platinum tresses in Dyson Airwrap-perfected waves for her Met Gala debut — a look she kept going at the afterparties. (Hopefully she had some espresso to get her through the late night.)

Keke Palmer
Jealous (or should we say, jelly) of Keke Palmer’s Met Gala beauty look? The star sported a full face of budget-friendly Milk Makeup products, including the brand’s viral Cooling Water Jelly Tint.

Jennifer Lopez
To execute J.Lo’s perfectly tousled bun, her style team kept this tangle-fighting, under-$20 hairbrush on hand.
“The focus was on refreshing Jennifer’s look, so we kept the color process simple and just worked to amp it up a bit to heighten her natural beauty,” celebrity hairstylist Tracey Cunningham — who also used Olaplex professional products on Lopez — said in a press release.
