Entrepreneur Michael Kassan, the unofficial king of Cannes, hosts buzzy cocktail party to introduce new firm
Entrepreneur Michael Kassan hosted a buzzy cocktail party in the South of France to introduce his new firm, 3C Ventures.
The exec is embroiled in an ongoing legal dispute since exiting Medialink, the company he founded, with its new owner United Talent Agency.
The bash, held at the Champagne Bat at the Hotel du Cap in Antibes, France, ended 30 minutes before the Medialink and iHeartMedia soirée kicked off in the Grill restaurant below where Lenny Kravitz played before VIP guests.
The irony of the situation wasn’t lost on Kassan.
“It’s Cannes; I understand Cannes. I wrote the business plan for how you use Cannes. I transformed the conference. It’s an important place for me,” Kassan, 73, told Page Six at the party.
“Being here at the advent of a new venture… of course I would celebrate it here and at the Hotel du Cap. I am introducing something new,” he added.
Kassan’s new company 3C is a consultancy — like his prior firm — but is a “higher level” version with the CEO helping brands navigate the complicated media landscape.
The company was named after the three issues beginning with C that he wants to focus on: Consulting, convening and co-investing.
Kassan, who already has 10 clients, said 3C has a growing waitlist.
“I was fortunate when I launched Medialink that I had the ability to look around corner.I am fortunate that when I launched 3C Ventures that I have the ability to look around the corner but I have better eyesight now based on my experience.”
