Gov. Kathy Hochul, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo scheduled to appear at Hamptons events this weekend
We hear that when one Long Island political insider said to another, “Are you going to see the governor in the Hamptons this weekend?” their pal replied, “Which one?”
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is appearing at a political fund-raiser in East Hampton, NY, on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. — where tickets are going for up to $15,000, according to an invitation seen by Page Six.
But we also hear that former Gov. Andrew Cuomo will appear on Sunday in Bridgehampton, NY, at a charity event to raise for funds for his nonprofit, Never Again, Now!, hosted by Daryl and Irwin Simon and Jennifer Bayer Michaels.
Hochul on Friday declared a statewide state of emergency in New York as remnants of Tropical Storm Debby were causing severe flooding. Her reps did not get back to us.
Cracked a Democratic source of the Hamptons events, “Cuomo is raising money to fight antisemitism and frankly is talking about it in a way that very few Democrats are … Hochul is just raising money for herself.
“She’s good at it — can’t take that away from her! But the subway stinks, the roads are terrible and no one I talk to feels like anyone’s in charge.”
Cuomo — ousted from office by sexual harassment investigations, which he always denied — has been out and about all summer, including speaking at the influential Hampton Synagogue, amid rumors that he will attempt a political comeback.
The former pol — who we hear is being encouraged to run again for office — founded Never Again, Now! with Steven M. Cohen, and the group has been running ads against terrorist group Hamas.
He has also been appearing at Black churches in New York City.
Cuomo was also recently at the Kennedy Compound where he celebrated the nuptials of his daughter, Mariah, alongside a slew of bold-faced names.
