Martha Stewart got too drunk on gin in college and hasn’t tried it since, but says she’ll sample Snoop Dogg’s new booze
Martha Stewart hasn’t had gin since she was twentysomething, but she’s willing to give it another shot for close pal Snoop Dogg.
The famed “Gin and Juice” rapper has been promoting his new booze line, Still G.I.N., with Dr. Dre during the Food Network’s New York City Wine & Food Festival.
At a party celebrating her 100th book, where Snoop was a guest, Stewart told the crowd, “I got so drunk on gin in college that I have not ever had gin since, but I can’t wait to taste your gin and juice.”
The book party was at NYC’s sleek Four Twenty Five restaurant, and hosted by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Lee Schrager.
They were spotted hanging out with the domestic doyenne on a VIP balcony, and gave a toast in front of guests including famed chefs Daniel Boulud, Alfred Portale, Jonathan Waxman, Alain Allegretti, Melba Wilson and Leah Cohen.
“‘If you’re looking for ideas [for another book] maybe you could talk about how you [had] an affair that happened 30 years ago and you kept it a secret. How is that possible?” Schrager said on stage, referring to Stewart’s recent admission in a Netflix documentary that she had been unfaithful to her ex, Andrew Stewart.
She replied, “Very easy, you have to be circumspect.”
Snoop also gave a speech, saying, “We jumped off a plane and rolled straight here because we wanted to support [Martha]. We love everything she is about.”
“We are real friends,” he told the crowd. “This is not TV, this is not made up. We really care about each other. Martha, I love you, thank you and I appreciate you.”
Drew Nieporent, Max Tucci, Rosanna Scotto, David Rockwell, Gillian Miniter, Linda Fargo, and Stewart’s longtime publicist Susan Magrino also attended the event where guests dined on some of the dishes included in the new book, like oysters casino, potato pierogi and pomegranate Martha-tinis.
Stewart and Snoop appeared on “Today” the next morning, and Stewart is set to pour the rapper’s gin as a bartender on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live.”
Stewart and Boulud will also have a Breakfast at Tiffany’s” brunch at the Blue Box Café.
