Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez have dinner with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago as Amazon plans $1M donation
Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, were seen having a late-night dinner with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday.
The couple chatted with fans and walked hand in hand behind the 45th and 47th POTUS as they entered a room, per an eyewitness’s Instagram Story.
As they stepped in, the room erupted in applause and cheers.
For the private dinner, Sánchez, 55, wore a simple, formfitting black minidress with clear heels. Her hair was styled loosely around her face.
The 60-year-old Amazon founder, for his part, wore a casual dark suit with a white half-unbuttoned shirt.
Meanwhile, Trump, 78, sported his usual blue suit with a yellow tie.
Their dinner comes just weeks after Bezos expressed optimism for Trump’s second term in office.
“I’m actually very optimistic this time around,” the billionaire said in an interview at the New York Times’ DealBook Summit.
“He seems to have a lot of energy around reducing regulation. If I can help do that, I’m going to help him. We do have too many regulations in this country.”
To kickstart Bezos’ support, Amazon is planning to donate $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund.
The e-commerce giant confirmed to CNN last week that it will donate the money in cash before making a $1 million in-kind contribution by streaming the Jan. 20 inauguration on Amazon Prime Video.
Sánchez and Trump likely had plenty to talk about during Wednesday’s dinner, as her son Evan, 18, as recently accepted to the University of Miami, where the president-elect’s granddaughter Kai, 17, is also set to study.
Kai announced in August she had “verbally” committed to the Florida college to play golf and study business.
Sharing a photo of herself wearing merch from UM, she wrote in part, “I would like to thank my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.”
The teen then thanked her “entire family for always encouraging and pushing” her to be the best person.
The eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, will begin attending the school in the fall of 2026.
Sánchez, meanwhile, shared Sunday that Evan was “off to Miami” to study business.
“My heart is bursting,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Beyond proud of you. Love you.”
The pilot co-parents Evan and daughter Ella, 16, with her ex-husband, Patrick Whitesell. She also shares son Nikko, 23, with ex Tony Gonzalez.
Bezos and Sánchez went public with their relationship in January 2019, just days after he announced his divorce from his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott. The couple got engaged in May 2023.
