Fans rejoice as Ariana Grande brings back her signature hairstyle for ‘Brighter Days Ahead’ video

Fans have got one less problem now that Ariana Grande is back to brunette.
The “Wicked” star seems to have been de-Glindafied, going back to brown hair and throwing it up in her signature high ponytail style for her “Brighter Days Ahead” short film.
In another part of the deluxe version of her “Eternal Sunshine” album, she also transforms into an elderly woman, thanks to lots of prosthetics.
The 31-year-old singer has rocked platinum blond locks (and brows!) since 2022, when she began preparing for her role in the two-part musical movie.
While her brows remain bleached, Grande shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from the filming of “Brighter Days Ahead” on Instagram on Tuesday, showing off her long-awaited return to brunette — and her iconic high pony.
On X (formerly Twitter), fans went wild over the star’s new ‘do. “Nothing is more powerful than brunette ariana grande. AND THE LONG PONYTAIL??” one user wrote.
Another added, “When Ariana goes back to her brown hair in brighter days >>>.”
A third shared, “WAIT!!! BRUNETTE HAIR?????!!!!!!!!” while a fourth similarly wrote, “ARIANA GRANDE IS BRUNETTE AGAIN.”
Even Grande’s photographer Katia Temkin join in on the fun over on Instagram, commenting, “I’d love to like this more than once.”
She’s definitely sporting a lighter, more amber shade of brown than her natural dark brown, but nonetheless, it’s still a deeper look for the Oscar nominee.
The “We Can’t Be Friends” singer has slowly been dropping her “Wicked” character-dressing theme, including at CinemaCon 2025, where she and co-star Cynthia Erivo debuted the first trailer for the film’s sequel, “Wicked: For Good.”
All of last year, the pair channeled their characters’ respective colors at promotional events — with Grande perennially pink for Glinda and Erivo rocking green and black for Elphie.
Though she appears to be going back to her pop star roots, we expect some more pink and proper looks from Grande as she gears up for another press tour ahead of the release of part two this November.
