Khloé Kardashian divides fans with her trendy thong jeans: ‘What in tarnation’

Khloé Kardashian brought back an old favorite pair of jeans Thursday, posing in Mugler’s trompe l’oeil thong style that gained popularity in 2021.
“This ain’t Texas IYKYK,” the 40-year-old star captioned a series of pics on her Instagram, pairing the pants with a black T-shirt and a cowboy hat.
She accessorized with denim pointed-toe heels and diamond jewelry while posing with BFF Malika Haqq, who sported leather shorts, thigh-high boots and a yellow top.
It’s unclear where the pair wore the look, although the caption references Beyoncé’s hit single — perhaps indicating Kardashian and Haqq were in the audience for the star’s Cowboy Carter tour stops in Los Angeles last month.
Commenters were divided on Kardashian’s blues, which include strategically placed Lycra panels.
Some of the Good American founder’s friends loved the outfit, with hairstylist Jen Atkin writing, “I think this might be your look” and Shay Mitchell leaving a trail of fire emojis.
However, others questioned the outfit, with one writing, “Only Khloe can wear these jeans – anybody else I’ll make fun of – bye” and another simply commenting, “what in tarnation.”
A third declared, “We don’t wear that here in Texas! 🤠”
After Bella Hadid and Irina Shayk modeled the head-scratching style on the runway in 2021, Shayk stepped out in a white-and-black version on the streets of New York.
Khloé made some noise with her new bob haircut last month, with fans praising her purple sequined halter gown for an appearance at the German Perfume Awards in Düsseldorf and comparing her to mom Kris Jenner.
“Oh what a compliment!!!!!!” Kardashian responded.
