Chloe Fineman shares 10 holiday gift ideas that are way better than another candle

A whopping 76% of Americans view candles as an appropriate gift for the holidays, according to the National Candle Association (yes, it’s a real organization). But this season, Chloe Fineman wants shoppers to think beyond wax and wicks.

“I think candles are just not that personal and also easy to mess up! What if they don’t love the smell, you know?” the comedian tells Page Six Style.

In an effort to “stop anyone from panic-buying something that smells like ‘I have no idea what to get you so I just grabbed this,'” as she puts it, Fineman recently teamed up with Zales on the aptly named Not Another Candle Collection, a curated capsule of gift-worthy gems priced from $50 to $1,500.

“I love a tennis bracelet! It’s such a classic item to have in one’s collection and you can wear it all the time. Nice date, going out … in NYC I even see people wearing them during Pilates!” the actress says of her personal favorite pick from the sparkly assortment.

“I also have recently fallen in love with the pinky ring,” she adds, pointing out that you can simply size down in any style that catches your eye.

But while Fineman calls jewelry “the most personal gift of all,” she adds that there are plenty of other ways to show loved ones you care this time of year.

“I love to be thoughtful with presents, so that means really listening to my close friends and family and getting clues as to what they want and then picking a theme,” she explains.

“For example, my boyfriend and I have horrible sleep schedules and we both complain about not getting enough of it, so this year I’m going with a sleep theme and getting nice eye masks, pajamas, etc.”

The gift of pampering is always a good bet, too.

“I really have to force myself to squeeze wellness into my schedule, because my job is pretty much a six-day work week — two of which can be nearly all-nighters. So I’ve recently gotten into Sunday spa days in New York, and I do think those gifts are great,” Fineman shares.

The master impressionist says you can’t go wrong with treating someone to a Joanna Vargas facial or a day pass or membership to Othership, “an incredible hot sauna and cold plunge spot.” Massages also work, as do foot rubs at Fineman’s “personal favorite,” All Seasons Body Work in downtown Manhattan.

And then there’s the star’s “one true rule of thumb” when it comes to gift-giving: “When in doubt, go cozy.”

“Those Lola Blankets are pretty life-changing and come in many sizes, even for pets!” Fineman says.

“Or a great pair of Uggs is just the best. Nothing makes me happier than putting my feet in a fresh pair of ’em.”
