Eyeing celebrities’ eyelashes?

You don’t need a magic wand to recreate their lush lash looks — just try a swipe of one of the many mascaras stars swear by.

After all, while their red carpet gowns tend to come with hefty price tags, A-listers go-to beauty products — ranging from lipstick to perfume — are often much more affordable.

And particularly when it comes to mascara, you’re just as likely to spot drugstore favorites alongside high-end versions from Dior and Lancôme.

Below, shop 10 mascaras that rank as the best in the eyes of celebrities and their makeup artists.

Best volumizing mascara

Lancôme Hypnôse Buildable Volume Mascara ($33)

Lancôme

From the Kardashian-Jenner family to the royal family, countless famous folks are hooked on this classic Lancôme formula, which is designed to “volumize” lashes “without clumping or flaking.” Kate Middleton reportedly counts it as a go-to, while Princess Diana’s makeup artist Mary Greenwall used it in a YouTube video about the late royal’s look.

As for its Hollywood fans? Lily Collins, who currently serves as a Lancôme ambassador, once told InStyle she feels “extra wide-awake with one swipe,” while her “Emily in Paris” makeup artist, Aurélie Payen, told Page Six Style she “really loves” the stuff.

Kendall Jenner’s similarly obsessed, once telling E! of the Hypnôse Drama version ($33), “It’s the only one I wear when I’m not wearing anything. It really works for me.”

Dior Diorshow Mascara ($30)

Dior

Countless stars credit their showstopping lashes to Diorshow, which fittingly features a brush inspired by professional curling irons. Blake Lively once showed off the product in an Instagram Story of her bursting beauty drawer, while Meghan Markle dubbed the Iconic version her “favorite mascara” in an Allure interview.

“Number one in the biz, Diorshow,” Drew Barrymore similarly raved in a Vogue video. “I’m a big fan of mascara components that don’t close down on the wiper because I want all that mascara. I always feel like I wanna say to the mascara tube, ‘Don’t worry, I can handle it. Just give it to me, baby.'”

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara ($26)

It Cosmetics

Jennifer Lopez’s hero beauty products include the Superhero Mascara from cult-favorite beauty brand It Cosmetics. She swiped some on in her Vogue “Beauty Secrets” video, calling it the “most important part” of her makeup routine.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara ($30)

Charlotte Tilbury

Wondering how Lizzo’s lashes look “Good As Hell”? Her makeup artist, Alexx Mayo, told Vogue he’s a fan of the mascara from Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk line (which also includes the nude lipstick loved by the likes of Meghan Markle and Britney Spears).

“There is something about the brush that really grabs every single lash and really stretches the length in such a clean way,” the beauty guru explained of the product, which is also an awards show staple seen on stars like Aubrey Plaza and Jessica Chastain at the 2023 SAG Awards.

Best “clean” mascara

Not everything in Hailey Bieber’s beauty bag comes from Rhode. She’s spotlighted this volumizing vegan formula in several of her makeup tutorials on TikTok.

Kosas The Big Clean Mascara ($39)

Kosas

Looking for a mascara that’s Goop-y, not goopy? Gwyneth Paltrow raved over this clean mascara from celebrity-loved beauty brand Kosas.

This beautiful one, my Kosas that I love … it’s great. It’s buildable. It’s thick when you want it to be, but you can also be very subtle with it.”

Best drugstore mascara

L’Oréal Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara ($11)

L'Oréal

Even supermodels and superstars raid drugstores for their beauty buys. Brooklyn Decker raved about this under-$15 formula to Page Six Style, telling us, “I’m a L’Oréal Voluminous mascara girl for life. I can’t be convinced otherwise.”
