Meghan Markle’s most budget-friendly fashion choices over the years

Meghan Markle’s most budget-friendly fashion choices over the years

While Meghan Markle intentionally reached for muted colors in her royal life — as she revealed in Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” documentary series — these days her style speaks for itself.

The Duchess of Sussex regularly makes headlines with her looks, which range from gala-ready glamour to designer duds befitting a cover girl.

Even long before marrying Prince Harry, she spilled her fashion secrets on now-defunct blog the Tig, once recalling attending New York Fashion Week and “understanding clothes aren’t just pieces of fabric, but that they can be art.”

But while the onetime blogger’s personal style has certainly evolved over the years — particularly once palace protocol entered the picture — one thing’s remained the same: her love for a budget-friendly buy.

Like sister-in-law Kate Middleton, Markle regularly ditches pricey pieces for something a little more affordable, whether she’s slipping on a summery Reformation dress or bundling up in J.Crew to chat with Oprah.

So from Hollywood to the UK — and back to California again — we’ve rounded up some of Markle’s more affordable fashion choices that are still available to buy.

While we wait for more secrets to be spilled in the next round of docuseries episodes, which premiere Dec. 15, shop seven of Markle’s under-$250 style secrets below.

Veja V-10 Sneakers ($175)

While Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle may not have everything in common, they do share several of the same fashion favorites, including Veja sneakers.

Plus, now that the brand also offers baby shoes, perhaps the littlest Sussexes will soon be matching their mom with sets of their own. (After all, Archie’s shoe collection already includes a pair of pint-sized Ugg boots.)

J.Crew Perfect Fit Shelf-Bra Tank Top ($25, originally $34)

Markle — along with the rest of the royal crew —  is a big fan of J.Crew’s style staples. While many of her favorites are no longer made, the top she wears on her “Archetypes” podcast cover is still available — and on sale to boot.

For more of her favorites from the brand, shop the Juliette Collarless Sweater Blazer ($158), which she wore to watch the US Open in 2019, and the High-Rise Toothpick Jean ($75, originally $128) she wore a year earlier.

Cuyana Wide Brim Panama Hat ($128)

Markle also owns several pieces from Cuyana, a brand with which she recently partnered on a charitable initiative. In addition to this wide-brim hat, which has become a staple of her casual California style, she and Jessica Alba both own the Luna Ear Jacket Earrings ($198).

Mother The Looker High Waist Frayed Ankle Skinny Jeans ($238)

Markle’s closet also contains some budget-friendly denim from Mother, including this pair she wore to the 2017 Invictus Games.

Looking for even more duchess-approved denim? Shop the Madewell design Markle and Princess Eugenie both own. While their exact Pinter Wash version ($118) is almost sold out, a similar shade is still available.

Among Markle’s other Madewell picks? The canvas version of the brand’s popular Transport Tote ($178).

Catbird Threadbare Ring ($48)

The former “Suits” star’s jewelry collection isn’t all straight from the palace. She’s worn New York-based brand Catbird’s designs on repeat, especially this delicate design.

Monica Vinader Linear Bar Friendship Bracelet ($175)

Another of her favorite bling brands? Monica Vinader, whose pieces also have a place in Kate Middleton’s jewelry box. The Duchess of Sussex has worn a friendship bracelet similar to this one on multiple occasions.

Add your favorite to cart — or pile on all seven pieces for a head-to-toe Markle-loved look.
