Why celebrities like Olivia Wilde love the Free People Dolman Quilted Jacket
Spring has sprung, and stars are swapping their heavy coats for this slouchy, soft Free People staple.
The brand’s Dolman Quilted Knit Jacket ($198) first took off back in 2020 — scoring fans like Hilary Duff and Vanessa Hudgens — and celebrities still regularly reach for it during transitional weather.
Olivia Wilde is the latest star to be spotted in the jacket, having worn it multiple times last month; the “Don’t Worry Darling” director layered the Vanilla Creme color over her go-to Alo Yoga Airlift Intrigue Bra ($64) and High-Waist Airlift Legging ($128), among other pieces.
And while cardigans might have a special place in Taylor Swift’s heart, she’s also a fan of equally cozy jackets, sporting a khaki-colored version of the style in scenes from her “Miss Americana” Netflix documentary in 2020.

The oversized design currently comes in six colors, ranging from tan and black to dark green and burnt orange.
Emma Roberts heralded the start of spring by posing for Instagram photos in the classic tan version in April 2020, pairing the under-$200 find with a matching set in the same neutral palette.
And Lucy Hale donned the design — which is made of breathable cotton — while walking her dog the same month, with Vanessa Hudgens following suit soon after.
As for the jacket’s biggest fan, however? That title just might belong to Hilary Duff, given she’s worn it year-round for everything from dressed-down outings to a night out with her husband.

It’s far from the only cozy Free People piece to score stars’ stamps of approval; Kaia Gerber and Hailey Bieber both love the Hit the Slopes Fleece Jacket ($148), while Swift sported a lavender faux fur coat from the brand in her “Lavender Haze” music video.
The brand’s also a hit with celebs of the fictional variety, as it recently launched a “Daisy Jones & The Six” collection featuring plenty of spring-ready ’70s style inspiration.
