1. Mercy the kitten

Kanye had the purr-fect present for his then-girlfriend in September 2012: a white teacup Persian kitten named Mercy, after his own hit song. The cat was featured on “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami,” in an episode where Kim drunkenly thought she’d lost her pet. Tragically, Mercy died in December 2012.

2. Cartier panther bracelets

Kanye picked up a $36,700 Panthère de Cartier bracelet for Kim’s 32nd birthday in 2012, later springing for another feline-themed bauble on Valentine’s Day 2013. A style similar to the latter diamond-encrusted version retails for a whopping $137,000.

3. Even more Cartier bracelets

In 2014, Kanye commissioned Kim’s birthday gift from an up-and-coming artist: the couple’s then-16-month-old daughter, North West.
