It’s over for one of fashion’s best-dressed power couples: On Friday, February 19, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West, after Page Six exclusively revealed the couple were headed for a split in January.
Kardashian, 40, and West, 43, have captivated the style world since well before their 2014 wedding, with the rapper famously giving his wife-to-be a major makeover at the start of their courtship. Since then, they’ve graced countless red carpets in coordinated looks, become Vogue cover stars and influenced trends in a major way.

While Kim and Kanye first met in 2003, the romance rumors didn’t kick into high gear until early 2012. That March, the reality star sat front row to support the rapper at his second runway show during Paris Fashion Week, decked out in duds he’d designed. WireImage

After confirming their relationship, Kanye began the process of completely overhauling Kim’s closet (for E!’s cameras, no less). The sexy yet simple white dress she wore to the 2012 BET Awards — which perfectly matched the musician’s outfit, of course — marked the start of a new style era for the star. Christopher Polk

Kim’s new look also snagged her admission to the most exclusive fashion event of the year: the Met Gala. While pregnant with the couple’s first child, she attended the 2013 ball on Kanye’s arm, clad in a custom floral Givenchy gown with matching gloves that sparked countless memes — and showed off her baby bump. Kimye tied the knot on May 24, 2014 in Florence, Italy. Both stars wore custom looks designed by Riccardo Tisci, then the creative director of Givenchy; the bride a white lace gown with long sleeves and an open back, the groom a sharp black tuxedo. Instagram

Kanye raised a few fashionable eyebrows when he showed up at the 2016 Met Gala in ripped jeans. Kim did a far better job following the evening “Manus x Machina”-themed dress code, sporting a silver Balmain gown that complemented her husband’s embellished jacket from the same label. Getty Images

All eyes were on Kim at the 2019 Met Gala, when she hit the red carpet in a “dripping wet” Thierry Mugler creation complete with a rib-crunching corset (Kanye, meanwhile, went for Dickies). As it turns out, the reality superstar’s headline-making look led to an argument between the pair; on an episode of “Keeping Up,” the rapper claimed it was “too sexy” for the red carpet, and that seeing his wife in revealing outfits was “affecting [his] soul and [his] spirit.” Kim fired back, calling his objections “absolutely ridiculous.” Getty Images

They seemed to be somewhat back on the same style wavelength by October 2019, when they presented Rick Owens with an award at the Fashion Group International Night of Stars event. And by November, they were matching once more, as evident by their looks for the WSJ. Magazine 2019 Innovator Awards: a denim corset and chaps for Kim, and a navy suit for Kanye. Both outfits were designed by their longtime friend Riccardo Tisci for Burberry, and the couple presented Tisci with the Fashion Innovator Award during the ceremony. Getty Images

For their final major red carpet appearance as a married couple, Kim and Kanye once again went in completely different style directions. The shapewear maven dazzled in her fluttery, feminine vintage Alexander McQueen “Oyster” gown, while the rapper selected an edgy leather Alfred Dunhill suit and gold chains.
