Comedian Artie Lange was forced to cancel a performance in Akron, Ohio, over the weekend after he was hospitalized.

Lange, 50, felt ill on Saturday, citing high blood sugar levels, TMZ reported.

Lange checked into the emergency room of a hospital near his New Jersey home and canceled his show, per doctor’s orders, as flying could have exacerbated the condition.

It’s not the only health issue the funny man has faced recently.

In September, Lange got a nosebleed on air during “The Artie and Anthony Show,” joking, “I snorted glass.”

“Sometimes I use. But not every day,” he later told Radar Online. “I have to get to the point where I don’t have withdrawals … I have too much to live for. My career and life will end the way it wants. I’m going to keep waking up in the morning, afternoon or evening and see what’s up. That’s all I can do.”

In July, Lange revealed he underwent emergency surgery after he got a chest infection caused by his longtime drug abuse.

“After Chicago gig I collapsed. I had emergency surgery. All the blow & H I’ve done for yrs blew hole in my nose & landed in my chest,” he tweeted. “It was infected. I was hours from checkin out. They ripped open my chest and got it all. I cheated the devil for the hundredth time.”

He tried to use the experience as a cautionary tale for fans.

“You young fans. Who I love. Who say they love me. I have been in jail from here to Paris. I’ve got multiple knife scars. Ppl I love leave,” he wrote. “Now I’m laying in the hospital w tubes in a hole in my chest. They put a permanent IV line in my arm to my heart for long term antibiotics.”

Lange also addressed rumors that his drug use and March arrest were why he claimed to have been fired from Judd Apatow’s “Crashing,” though the director denied it.

“I’m done bulls—tting. The Dr says I will be back. Judd Apatow is a saint. I hope to do Crashing Dr told me many other ppl would b dead,” Lange wrote. “I’m an ox he says. So something keeps me here. If u fans come up to me on drugs plan on a fight. Pls be strong. My life should be great. It’s not. Stay strong. need cash.So be out next week working again. Next chapter. If I’m not clean I’m gone. I love u.”

A rep for Lange did not immediately return a request for comment.
