Ed Sheeran is wildly underdressed next to Beyoncé
Dear Ed Sheeran: Please allow Beyoncé to “upgrade u.”
The two musical superstars performed their song “Perfect” together at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandella 100 in South Africa on Sunday, and fans couldn’t help but notice a very big difference between how Sheeran, 27, and Beyoncé, 37, were dressed.
Of course, the Coachella headliner donned something predictably over-the-top, wearing a sculptural fuchsia gown with a long train by Ashi Studio, a couture look from the brand’s spring/summer 2018 collection.
The “Shape of You” singer, on the other hand, opted for a black T-shirt by UK skateboard brand Hoax worn over a white long-sleeved tee with dark jeans and sneakers.
One unimpressed Twitter user shared an image of the pair onstage, writing, “Ed Sheeran is a 27 year old man the fact we’ve enabled him to feel it’s ok to dress like this at all, let alone next to Beyoncé really boils my piss.” Added another, “Ed Sheeran is actually wearing a 3-piece custom tuxedo. That’s just what white people always look like standing next to Beyoncé.”
And a third social media user simply wrote, “Looking at this photo, it’s hard to believe that men have been the traditionally dominant sex.”
Sheeran might want to consider investing in a blazer before performing with Queen Bey again.
